At Martin Berry Opticians we have trained opticians who have fantastic knowledge of the latest contact lenses that are available for you to pick from, whether you are looking for daily lenses just to wear on special occasions or you are a full times user and you are looking for a lens that will match your everyday needs, we can help guide you through the process so that you can have the best contact lenses for your lifestyle.

How do I go about getting contact lenses?

Most people can wear contact lenses and there are many different types of lenses. Here at Martin Berry Opticians we are contact lens specialists which allows us to be able to help most people who are wanting to wear contact lenses.

If you have an up-to-date contact lens prescription from another opticians, we are happy to supply you with contact lenses.

If you don’t have an up-to-date contact lens prescription or you are new to contact lenses, you will need to book in for a contact lens fitting. Firstly, you will need an up-to-date eye examination before we do the contact lens fitting, if you haven’t got an up-to-date eye examination then we can arrange one for you.

For your contact lens fitting we will discuss your requirements, we will be asking questions like:How often would you like to wear contact lenses?

The Optician will take some measurements and check the front of your eye, before putting lenses into your eyes. We will then let you trial the lenses for an hour to see how they feel in your eye and this will also allow us to check how the lens fits in your eye. Once you are happy with the lenses, we will then show you how to take the lenses in and out of your eye, we will then give you some lenses to trial at home. Lastly, we will then book you an appointment for a week later, to check up on your progress.

Daily Disposable contact lenses

Daily Disposable lenses are a convenient lenses and are very easy to maintain. Once you have finished with the lenses simple discard them at the end of the day, and use a new pair the next morning or whenever you would like to wear the contact lenses again.

2 Weekly – Monthly contact lenses

Reusable contact lenses can be used up to two weeks. These lenses will need removing before you go to bed and cleaning using a disinfecting solution that we can provide you. These lenses are ideal if you wear your lenses every day, there is a great range of contact lenses available, so we can match your needs and your budget.

Varifocal Contact Lenses

The varifocal contact lenses are a highly advanced lens, these lenses provide a stronger prescription for near and they also allow you maintain a great distance vision.
